Bridal Talks by Louise & Oisin of Behind The Wand
Well hello my loves! Have you missed us over here on the blog?
Life has been so crazy the past few months that unfortunately the blog page has suffered but we are still keeping you all up to date on our Facebook & Instagram feeds so please do keep checking in over there. However, now that things have slightly calmed for another while we have time again to get back to posting here and we have lots to fill you in on while we’ve been away 🙂
Todays post though I’m going to focus solely on our Bridal Talks event which happened on Sunday 1st July in JJ Coppingers, Midleton. This was something that Oisin and myself had discussed for so long it felt so surreal seeing it all finally coming together and when it sold out in a matter of days well that was the best feeling ever!!
We could not of hoped for a better venue that JJ Coppingers, we always said if we were going to do a talk we wanted to keep it very relaxed, informal and with a drink in our hand 🙂 The staff there were a dream to work with and nothing was ever too much trouble even closing the bar for the afternoon while our event was on the team went above and beyond our expectations. On a side note if you are looking into having an engagement/after wedding party I would highly recommend popping in and having a chat with the team as this is a service they provide.
The day itself was a bridal parties day out, what we covered was planning your wedding on a 12 month time scale taking you from ‘Yes’ to ‘I Do’. We started off with our guest speakers John Sexton of John Sexton Photography & Vitaliy of Vector PM Weddings who both were a fountain of knowledge not just on booking your photographer or videographer but also with their tips for the day of your wedding and the run up to.
Followed on by Stephanie of Paperlove.ie wedding stationery and Brian of Baker Boy Cakes who very kindly brought some samples of his cakes which went down a treat with the glasses of bubbles provided by JJ Coppingers. Our first fashion show of the day followed which included ladies guest wear and bridesmaid inspiration provided by Halo Boutique and menswear provided by Simply Suits.
This took us into our beauty segment of the day with hair demonstrations by my partner in crime Oisin Ryan and Amanda Tattan Make Up provided us with a Meghan Markle inspired bridal look. We were delighted to have the team from Owenacurra Pharmacy with us who gave u a run through on all their skincare options available and advised us that they now provide a personal shopping service, ideal if you are looking to start a new routine with your skincare or make up but unsure of where to start. Maria of Indulge also joined me on stage to chat all things laser skincare and Mini Mi body wraps which I am definitely going to be trying out!
Which brought us to our final fashion segment of the day and my personal favourite the Bridal looks. We had dresses from Diamond Bridal & Say I Do with grooms wear from Simply Suits. Our accessories, veils and hair pieces were all very kindly provided by Ellen of Wedding Belles and really helped to pull all of the looks together. The mini models even made an appearance with the boys suits again available from Simply Suits and our beautiful flower girls dress was from Diamond Bridal.
We cannot express our gratitude enough to all of the amazing suppliers who helped us bring our event together and who kindly gave their time, goody bag gifts and spot prizes on the day to our very lucky brides we truly appreciate it!
As you can probably imagine (especially if you follow our instastories) we celebrated a fantastic first event into the early morning hours of Monday! Have no fear though ladies if you missed out on this event as there may be another in the pipeline so keep your eyes peeled 😉
Love n Sparkles,
